Moonshine Medicinals is a line of medicinal herbal tinctures formulated with love and consideration for the environment.  

 What is a tincture?  A tincture is an herbal concentrate in a base of alcohol.  The alcohol allows for the active medicinal properties of each herb to be efficiently extracted from the plant material and into the alcohol.  The alcohol then contains the medicinal properties in a high concentration.  The standard dose is only a dropperful of tincture 3 times a day. Alcohol tinctures are easy for the body to absorb, because they pass quickly through the stomach mucosa and then into the blood stream; they allow for absorption where tea may not, as some herbs are not water-soluble. Tinctures are a simple and easy way to incorporate medicinal herbs into your daily self care routine, and they guarantee the full strength of fresh herbs, without the concern of spoilage. If you do not want to consume alcohol, you can put it in hot water, let it sit for a couple of minutes and then drink.  The alcohol will evaporate.

Tinctures last up to 7 years and should be kept in a cool, dark place away from machinery.

Lemon Balm is one of my favorite herbs.  It has a sweet and fragrant smell and it adds a yummy flavor to a glass of water during the warm summer months, when the plant is in it's prime.  Tinctures are a nice and easy way of enjoying the plant during the winter months.  The Lemon Balm I use in my tinctures is homegrown with love here in Lawrence.
